IPL 5 champions, Kolkata Knight Riders take on Delhi Daredevils in the second Group A clash at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Saturday.
Delhi Daredevils will be on a high as the team’s opener Virender Sehwag has been declared fit to play the first match after he was advised rest for 14 days following an ankle injury during the World T20.
While the team’s batting depends on skipper Mahela Jayawardene and David Warner, who are in-form, compared to Kevin Pietersen and Virender Sehwag, as the former hasn’t played much cricket off late following his controversial axeing from the Test squad and other issues, as the latter has returned from injury.
Moreover, Sehwag has not been performing well off late, which will be a concern for Delhi Daredevils, but in all possibility he needs just an innings to get that spark back.
Bowling depends on Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav and Irfan Pathan, but the team heavily depends on their batsmen.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have a few problems as well. Gambhir’s form is the only concern for champions KKR, as the team would expect the skipper to lead from the front. Otherwise, batting depends on Jacques Kallis and Brendon McCullum.
Sunil Narine, Kolkata’s mysterious bowler is expected to lead the attack as Laxmipathy Balaji and others can assist the spinner.
The two teams have played 10 matches so far while KKR has won 5 and DD have registered 4 wins while a tie was washed off due to rain.
Virender Sehwag and Brendon McCullum are the two players to watch out for in the Group A clash on Saturday, as it promises to be a cracker of a contest
